This weekend was a bit of a whirlwind for us at filmhash, starting with an epic U2 concert on Thursday night and followed up with a 3 AM showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 Friday morning (click here for our review!). Of course, one viewing of Harry Potter is never enough, so we went again on Sunday morning at 9:30 AM. Those with the cojones to get up that early on a weekend will be rewarded with lowered ticket prices (at least this was the case at our local AMC theater). The second viewing actually made me like Part 2 even more, and I strongly suggest a second viewing in order to pick up the subtleties audiences often miss when they’re too enamored by the experience to notice the first time around.
As one can imagine, we’re experiencing a little Harry Potter hangover this beautiful Monday morning, especially after a week of bringing to you our retrospective of all seven movies in the Potter series. I think it’s safe to say that somewhere down the line our current state of malaise will develop into a full blown withdrawal, at which point we ask you to indulge in our “Remembering Harry Potter” series, or whatever it is we end up writing to calm the panic attacks (I may be making this up, but I’m pretty sure I heard that there are already support groups forming for people unable to deal with the ending of Harry Potter. So I don’t think we’re the crazy ones).
For this week, it will be business as usual for filmhash, with all of our original content returning, so please stay tuned!
